Who is Arahant
Arahant is an artist, scientist, and an entrepreneur, who, having mastered the field of Computer Science, is in pursuit of his next passions in the field of Fashion Design and Entrepreneurship. His friends describe him as Bold, Creative and Unconventional.
Having developed high creativity, artistic skills, and a great penchant for fashion at an early age, he decided to pursue his interest in Computer Science. However, his creativity and fashionability never left him.
He had his first taste of entrepreneurship working on PIVOTtag, which he co-founded with his good friend, Emily, while at NYU. This is how he describes his time at PIVOTtag: “It was exhilarating and engaging, and helped me grow professionally and personally, by pushing me outside my comfort zone.” If not for the pandemic, he’d probably still be working there. Having had a taste for entrepreneurship, he always wanted to get back to it.
Now, after having spent, what according to him is a lifetime, in Computer Science, and having had a taste of entrepreneurship, he has reignited his creative self, his long-time zest for fashion and his new-found passion for entrepreneurship, through House of Arahant.
His Penchant for Physics
The spawn of all his individuality began when he was obsessed with Physics during his last semester of high school. Einstein’s General Theory of Relativity, was so counter intuitive that it forced him to think outside the regular academic box, mesmerized him.
This triggered a pursuit in Physics, which was rather unusual and interesting, from Quantum Mechanics to Low Dimensional Physics. The latter is where he came across Graphene and CNT, and he fell in love with the design patterns. He never thought of using it in Fashion, but the design stuck in his head.
In his own words, “In addition to the designs that stuck with me, it forced me to think fresh and not follow conventions, which I loved.”
His Taste of Entrepreneurship
It was his first week at NYU, when he met Emily. She had an idea for a smart luggage tag that she wanted to build into a potential company. At their first meeting, he loved the idea. It was so elegant, simple and seamless. He was immediately on board.
What followed was months of excitement, uncomfortable encounters with random strangers (as part of our customer discovery), and designing everything from scratch. It was going well, until the pandemic disrupted all their ambitions.
As he looks back on it, he recalls, “it was the best professional experience I’ve ever had as a Computer Science professional. I’ve worked in big companies after that, but nothing comes close to that level of excitement, growth and learning opportunity. That’s when I vowed to get to back to entrepreneurship, and here I am!”
His Passion for Fashion
This is a rather old passion. He’s always had a good taste for it. His first big expression of fashion was at his high school graduation, when he wore a bedazzled suit. He loved it, and has saved it to this day!
New York really was the place where he got to unleash his creativity and pursue his passion for fashion. It couldn’t have been more fortuitous. He was studying in NYU, working on a startup that he loved, and living in the best city in the world! 2019 was when his dreams literally came true!
“Looking at all of the fashionable people, the clothes, the energy, the artists, musicians, was very inspiring. They had all made it to New York to be somebody, and I was here too. It was my chance to be somebody, to chase my dreams, to finally get to where I wanted to be. It was then, while I was working on PIVOTtag, the idea of scientific styles just hit me, sitting in Washington Square Park. Fast forward a few years, I’m here.”
Meet the company - House of Arahant
House of Arahant is the product of our founder, Arahant’s, long-time passion for Fashion, combined with Science and Entrepreneurship. It tries to bring the beautiful and unorthodox design patterns found in Science into fashion, providing a fresh take.
Our motto is Sci-Fi, Boldness and Exotic, which aligns with our founder’s vision and life philosophy, and which are also evident in our projects.
From unorthodox Fibonacci designs borrowed from Mathematics, to the rather beautiful DNA helix patterns, to the bombastic 3D lattice designs found in Chemistry, there is no limit or bound to what Scientific Styles can cook up. Our designs are as infinite as Science itself. Every one of our collection is unique and brings in something unprecedented.
